Abstract

- Active. Decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) are a transformative model for governance in decentralized systems, with on-chain innovative mechanisms for decision-making, incentivization for participants, and organizational autonomy. However, there are unique challenges with the decentralized nature of DAOs, including risks, security, and accountability. Established in these guidelines are standardized principles and frameworks helping to ensure robustness, fairness, and efficiency in DAO operations, covering essential aspects such as smart contract integrity, voting mechanisms, stakeholder participation, consensus protocols, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Best practices are outlined to foster trust, sustainability, and innovation in decentralized governance structures, empowering organizations to operate effectively in the Web3 ecosystem, utilizing new capabilities enabled by blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.
